| - 17th June, Kunming-Kathmandu flight launched by China Eastern Airlines: where the Yunnan branch plans the direct flight service Kunming-Kathmandu from July 17, 2009. Boeing 737 aircraft will operate these flights with a flight schedule of every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday. According to chinahospitalitynews.com, it's the third international direct flight departing from Kunming launched by China Eastern's Yunnan branch in 2009. Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province in China, used to be the gateway to the celebrated Silk Road that facilitated trade with Tibet, Sichuan, Myanmar & India. At present, it's a popular tourism hub in Southwest China. |
